One drug now carries the whole story

01 Running thesis

A cleaner but riskier bet

Immunovant used to have two active drugs in the story. That changed in April 2026 when batoclimab failed two Phase 3 studies in thyroid eye disease. The company stopped all batoclimab development as a result.

The bull case is now tied entirely to IMVT-1402. This drug may be a better anti-FcRn treatment because it is designed to lower harmful IgG antibodies with less effect on albumin and LDL cholesterol. In May 2026, early data in rheumatoid arthritis showed strong response rates, which gave the company its first proof that IMVT-1402 works in patients.

The bear case is simple. One drug now carries nearly all of the company value. A setback in IMVT-1402, a delay across the trial plan, or a safety problem would hurt the whole thesis at once.

The balance sheet gives the company room to try. Immunovant reported $902.1 million in cash at March 31, 2026. Management says this can fund announced programs through a possible first commercial launch of IMVT-1402 in Graves' Disease. That lowers near-term financing risk, but clinical risk remains high.

Aug 2026Management maintained focus on upcoming IMVT-1402 readouts for CLE and D2T RA in the second half of 2026, and reiterated confidence in the asset's potential in Graves' disease.
May 2026Immunovant stopped all batoclimab development after two Phase 3 thyroid eye disease studies failed. The story became clearer, but more dependent on one asset, IMVT-1402.
Feb 2026The company pushed D2T RA data to the second half of calendar 2026 and set CIDP and Sjögren's disease data for 2028. Cash guidance improved to fund through a possible first IMVT-1402 launch in Graves' Disease.
Nov 2025Batoclimab thyroid eye disease data were delayed so both Phase 3 studies could read out together in the first half of calendar 2026. Strong Graves' Disease follow-up data helped, but the near-term catalyst moved later.
Aug 2025Immunovant had started studies in all six initial IMVT-1402 indications. The same filing added early warning of possible disagreement with HanAll over batoclimab.
May 2025The company had initiated five IMVT-1402 trials, including potentially registrational studies in MG and CIDP. Management also said $714.0 million of cash could fund operations through the Graves' Disease readout expected in 2027.
Feb 2025A $450.0 million private placement strengthened the balance sheet. Immunovant also had six active INDs for IMVT-1402 and had started potentially registrational trials in Graves' Disease and D2T RA.
Nov 2024Immunovant reported five active INDs for IMVT-1402, ahead of its calendar 2024 goal. The update showed faster progress toward pivotal starts in Graves' Disease and rheumatoid arthritis.
02 Business model

No sales until approval

Immunovant is a pre-revenue biotech. It does not sell any medicine today. Its value depends on running clinical trials, getting regulators to approve IMVT-1402, and then selling or partnering the drug.

The company funds itself through stock offerings, not product cash flow. That is common for clinical-stage biotech, but it means shareholders face dilution if trials take longer or cost more than planned.

The possible moat is the drug profile and the patents around it. IMVT-1402 is given under the skin and targets FcRn, a receptor that helps IgG antibodies stay in the body. Blocking FcRn can lower IgG, which may help diseases where IgG antibodies attack healthy tissue.

The model breaks easily. If IMVT-1402 cannot show strong benefit and clean safety in late-stage trials, there is no second active drug program to rely on.

03 Product portfolio

IMVT-1402 takes center stage

Growth engine

IMVT-1402 in Graves' Disease

This is the lead commercial target. Immunovant expects top-line results from the IMVT-1402 Graves' Disease trials in 2027.

Growth engine

IMVT-1402 in difficult-to-treat rheumatoid arthritis

This program tests whether FcRn blockade can help patients whose rheumatoid arthritis has been hard to control. Period 1 open-label top-line results are expected in the second half of calendar 2026.

Option

IMVT-1402 in myasthenia gravis

Myasthenia gravis is already a proven anti-FcRn market for other companies. Immunovant expects IMVT-1402 top-line results in MG in 2027.

Option

IMVT-1402 in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy

CIDP is a nerve disease where lowering harmful antibodies may help. Immunovant expects top-line results from this trial in 2028.

Option

IMVT-1402 in Sjögren's disease

This is a potentially registrational program that started in June 2025. Top-line results are expected in 2028.

Option

IMVT-1402 in cutaneous lupus erythematosus

This is a proof-of-concept trial, meaning it is meant to show whether the idea works before a larger approval trial. Top-line results are expected in the second half of calendar 2026.

Option

Batoclimab

Batoclimab is no longer an active development program. Immunovant stopped all work on it after two Phase 3 thyroid eye disease studies missed their primary goals.

For fiscal 2026, Immunovant did not report revenue segments because it had no commercial products and had not generated revenue to date. The practical mix is all research and development activity.

05 Risk factors

What could break the thesis

Single-asset dependence

High impact · Medium odds

Immunovant is now almost fully tied to IMVT-1402. That focus can help execution, but it also means a bad safety signal or weak efficacy result would damage the whole company. Batoclimab is no longer a backup program.

We watchAny IMVT-1402 trial halt, safety update, or missed primary endpoint.

Interim data reliance

High impact · Medium odds

The recent rheumatoid arthritis data was an early look at an open-label trial. Findings could change when all data are fully analyzed and audited. A negative shift in final results would damage confidence in the drug.

We watchFinal data readouts for D2T RA in the second half of 2026.

HanAll partnership dispute

Medium impact · Medium odds

Immunovant licenses key assets from HanAll. The 2026 10-K says HanAll may disagree with Immunovant's actions on batoclimab, and that the matter could lead to arbitration or litigation. A settlement or dispute could create cost, delay, or distraction.

We watchSEC filings or company updates that mention HanAll arbitration, litigation, settlement terms, or changes to licensed rights.

Manufacturing and BIOSECURE Act risk

Medium impact · Medium odds

The BIOSECURE Act could restrict the use of some foreign contract manufacturers if they are named as biotechnology companies of concern. If any Immunovant supplier is affected, the company may need to move manufacturing, which is costly and slow.

We watchCompany disclosure on affected CMOs, manufacturing transfers, new supply agreements, or added launch costs.

FcRn competition

High impact · High odds

The anti-FcRn field is crowded. Immunovant has named competitors including argenx, Johnson & Johnson, and UCB, with approved or late-stage assets in related diseases. IMVT-1402 must show enough safety, efficacy, or convenience to win market share.

We watchNew FcRn approvals, label expansions, pricing changes, and head-to-head or cross-trial safety comparisons.

Future dilution

Medium impact · Low odds

Management says current cash can fund announced programs through a possible first IMVT-1402 launch in Graves' Disease. Still, delays, extra trials, litigation, or manufacturing changes could force another equity raise.

We watchQuarterly cash balance, operating cash burn, and any new stock offering.
06 Quick answers

In one breath

Does Immunovant have any approved drugs?

No. Immunovant has no approved commercial product and has not generated revenue to date. The company depends on clinical trial success and future regulatory approvals.

What happened to batoclimab?

Batoclimab failed two Phase 3 studies in thyroid eye disease in April 2026. Immunovant then stopped all development of batoclimab and shifted its focus to IMVT-1402.

What is the next major Immunovant catalyst?

The next expected readouts are from IMVT-1402 in cutaneous lupus erythematosus and difficult-to-treat rheumatoid arthritis. Both are expected in the second half of calendar 2026.

Why does IMVT-1402 matter so much?

IMVT-1402 is now the company's sole active drug asset. It is being tested across six autoimmune disease programs, so strong data could create a large opportunity, while weak data would hurt the whole thesis.
