What Happens Before Finn Submits a Financial Action
Finn is designed to keep you involved in every financial move. Even when a connected account supports an action, Finn first explains the proposed step, identifies the account involved, and asks you to review and approve it before submission.
How Finn works
The action review flow
- 01
Understand the recommendation
Finn explains what it is proposing and why that step may matter in the context of your financial picture.
- 02
Confirm the account and eligibility
It checks that the account supports the specific action and, where needed, confirms the account you want to use.
- 03
Review the details
You see the relevant action details before anything is submitted.
- 04
Give explicit approval
Finn submits an available financial action only after you approve it. A connection is not blanket authorization.
Some changes do not move money
Finn can also help with organizational steps, such as saving an investment plan, updating a transaction category, or managing a watchlist. Those are different from an order, transfer, or withdrawal, and the product should make that distinction clear.
After an action is submitted
Timing and cancellation depend on the action and the underlying account or provider. A pending action may be cancellable, while a completed action cannot simply be undone. Finn should show the current status rather than imply that every submitted action is immediately final or reversible.
Common questions
- Can Finn move money or trade without asking me?
- No. Finn asks for your explicit approval before submitting an available financial action.
- Can I cancel an action after approving it?
- It depends on whether the action is still pending and on the underlying account or provider. Completed actions cannot simply be reversed by cancelling them.
- What details do I see before I approve an action?
- Finn presents the relevant action details and account context for your review before it submits an available financial action.
- Can Finn choose an account for me when several are eligible?
- Finn should let you choose when more than one connected account can support the action, unless you have already specified the account you want to use.
- Is an approved action guaranteed to execute immediately?
- No. Timing, execution, settlement, and cancellation depend on the action and underlying institution or provider.
- Can Finn change a submitted action after I approve it?
- No. Any new or changed financial action requires its own review and approval.
- What is the difference between an action and a saved plan?
- A saved plan records a reviewed allocation or next-step structure. A financial action is a separate request to do something with an eligible account, such as submit an order or transfer.
